This recipe is perfect for an evening bath when it's hard to relax due to the stressful cares of the day. It makes 1 ounce.

Use 1/2 ounce for a standard sized tub. If you have a Jacuzzi sized tub, you may wish to add more depending on your own sensitivities. I use 1 ounce for my fairly large Jacuzzi sized tub and find that it is just right. As with all aromatherapy products, err on the side of using less rather than more. Turkey Red oil is fully dispersible in water so this mixture should not separate much. The small bit of lavender tincture contributes to adding a bit of additional shelf life, plus the properties of the lavender itself. It also helps make the ingredients less prone to separation.

Yield: 1 ounce (2 applicationsfor a standard sized tub)

    Blending Procedure:

    1. Measure the Turkey Red oil into a glass bottle. Add the vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil and lavender tincture. Cap and shake gently to mix.

    2. Add the essential oil last and cap. Shake gently again to mix. Allow Lavender Bath Syrup to sit for at least a week before using. This will allow the ingredients to mellow together. Shake well before pouring into a drawn bath. Slink in, close your eyes and enjoy!!

    3. In addition to a bath syrup, this product can be used in a variety of other ways. Add 1-2 drops to a basin of warm water and use as a facial splash. Add a few drops to a hot compress and apply to the back of your neck or the forehead for soothing, calming results.

    Comments:

"I made this for a busy and very pregnant friend of mine. She was very pleased with the smell and the feel of the syrup. This also left absolutely no bath ring, which also thrilled her to no end! Her husband even commented on how wonderful it smelled, too! mzmocha318"
